THE STUDIO Set in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges to the east of Melbourne, Stick Music Studio offers the performer a relaxed environment in which to complete any recording project, be it budget demo/audition tracks or fully produced album projects. Rates are tailored for the younger and up and coming artists. Acoustic, solo and duo or small combo acts are particularly encourgaged to use the space.

EQUIPMENT A Presonus 8 input soundcard interfaces to an iMac system running Logic Pro. Mackie MR8 Active Studio monitors provide the playback. The principal vocal mic is an sE Gemini II tube condenser. Other mics for instrument and vocals include more sEs, AKGs, Shures, Sennheisers and Audio Technicas. The centrepiece of the studio is a George Steck 187cm baby grand piano.

LAYOUT The total floorspace of Stick Music Studio is 50 sq metres. At the southern end (pictured above) is a timber panelled ‘acoustic’ area for the recording of acoustic guitars, ukuleles, violins, cellos and other stringed instruments.
